at the RWTH Aachen University in cooperation with
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Troeder
1985 - 1990 Head of the department "Computer Simulation" of an engineering and consulting company (MEC Maschinenbau Entwicklung Consulting GmbH, Alsdorf, Germany)
since April 1, 1990 Managing director and chief engineer of the ARLA Maschinentechnik GmbH, Wipperfuerth, Germany (particularly concerning the subjects Dynamics in Rotating Machinery and NVH Behavior of Vehicle Powertrains)

Special Technical Experiences

More than 60 technical papers, lecture notes, conference contributions, etc. have been published, particularly dedicated to the following subject areas:

  • Analysis of torsional and lateral vibrations (rotor dynamics)

  • Optimization of dynamical characteristics of drive elements and drive systems;
    machine diagnosis

  • Simulation of total drivelines in rotating machinery and vehicles

  • Special methods to analyze the NVH behavior of vehicle powertrains using long-term experiences concerning this specific subject

More information on published literature are found on a special web site.

The special technical experiences are based on numerous consulting and engineering activities in a wide field: industrial projects, support of research and development activities, training courses to introduce state-of-the-art simulation methods and software packages, development of machining units which are used in the production and manufacturing industry.

There is a special cooperation with Haus der Technik in Essen (Germany). Special conferences and seminars on the system analysis of vehicle powertrains have been organized and managed. Conference books have been published too.

Member of Associations

since 1975 VDI - The Association of German Engineers
since 1984 ASME - The American Society of Mechanical Engineers
