Due to the further growth of the family-~owned busi~ness, the com~pany was splitted into two in~de~pen~dent legal enti~ties. Andreas Laschet **ARLA Maschinen~technik GmbH*** in Kuerten, a small place east of the Cologne area. In 2002 the com~pany moved to Wipperfuerth, a 800 years old hanseatic town 40 km away from Cologne. With the brand name „**ARLA**“ the well-known **ARLA Machine Pro~ducts** (shift & engage levers, clamp~ing and work~holding sys~tems, machin~ing units, CNC end~work~ing machines) were deve~loped further, global~ly sold, and pre~sented at various interna~tional exhi~bitions and shows like TUBE, EMO, IMTS. ![ARLA Office and Production/Assembly Plant (2004)](https://dev.laschet.com/wp-content/uploads/ARLA-2004-300x225.jpg) Another company branch covers the **ARLA Engineer~ing Services**; these activities are based on the thesis of *Dr.-Ing. Andreas Laschet* at the University of Technology in Aachen (RWTH Aachen) in 1988. These services are dedicated to the calcu~lation, simu~lation, and analysis of vibrations and the overall dynamic behavior in complete drive~lines (focused on torsional vibrations). This is a specialty with many applications in rotating machinery, in vehicles (cars, trucks), and also in ship drive~lines supported by powerful simulation soft~ware packages (like ARLA-SIMUL, ARLA-SIMSTAT, ITI-SIM, SimulationX, ARMD). In 1998 ARLA started a cooperation with ***ESI-ITI***, Dresden, Germany (concerning ITI-SIM and SimulationX) and ***RBTS***, Phoenixville/Philadelphia (PA) in the US (concerning ARMD). Based on these activities, *Dr. Andreas Laschet* achieved high reputation world~wide with more than 60 technical papers, publi~ca~tions, con~ference proceed~ings, book chapters, and seminar and training material. ## Presence and Future Starting with Nov 1, 2016 the complete ARLA business was splitted in the two domains „ARLA Machine Products“ and „ARLA Engineering Services“ and continued separately. ![](https://dev.laschet.com/wp-content/uploads/COPIER-a-brand-of-3defacto.jpg)The entire „**ARLA Machine Products**“ division, including the ARLA brand, ![](https://dev.laschet.com/wp-content/uploads/3DF_logo.svg)will be continued under the new „**COPIER**“ brand as part of the „Pipe Pro~cessing Machines“ business unit of ***3defacto GmbH, Muehltal (DE)***, starting in April 2026.
